Rosneft President Igor Sechin and Presidential Envoy in the Urals federal district Igor Kholmanskikh have signed a Strategic partnership agreement aimed at promoting social and economic development of the Urals federal district. The ceremony took place at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The agreement seals the parties' intention to jointly develop the region's industrial potential. The cooperation aims among other things to increase operational efficiency, including through the introduction of innovative technologies. As part of the agreement, special attention will be paid to the issues of efficient use of natural resources in the Urals federal district and improving environmental protection.

Development of Rosneft's sales network is another important area of cooperation. It will help to ensure an uninterrupted supply of high-quality petroleum products to the district's consumers. The Agreement places special emphasis on deliveries of automotive fuels to local industrial and agricultural producers.

As Rosneft's largest production assets are situated in the Urals federal district, implementing the Agreement will help boost the region's economy and contribute to effective social policies.
